ABOUT US
A Unique MUN
Naseem International School's Model United Nations, otherwise known as NISMUN, epitomizes the IB culture of diversity, globalization, and leadership. It empowers students to be leaders rather than followers and exemplifies the learner profile that the IB has instilled within students since its inception. The MUN presents itself as an essential tool in developing students and preparing them to be future leaders of the world.
Since its inception, the Naseem International School Model United Nations has hosted over 300 students annually in its two-day conferences, which encompass a variety of riveting discussions and debates regarding current world issues. The Model United Nations allows students to fully immerse themselves in issues that may not be part of a school curriculum but are essential to the world. It further highlights and emphasizes the need for unity, peace, and resolutions, where students are often urged to form alliances and speak for or against issues that may not be of their liking but for the betterment of their designated countries.
Additionally, the Model United Nations poses a great way for students to socialize in a healthy and fruitful intellectual environment and allows schools in Bahrain and beyond to come together for a unified purpose. The organizing committee, which is made up of students from NIS, also poses a learning curve where students are given leadership administrative roles to fulfill. Under the guidance and advisory of the faculty school advisor, the students carry out this simulation of a real-life United Nations conference. The MUN promotes the concept of an event done by the students, for the students.
